Update on Private Leagues

Friday, April 17th, 2009

iRacing Insiders Night, Dave Kaemmer answered members questions ina chatroom format and some more detail came to light regarding private leagues;

What will be the league structure and how will it affect the service?

The idea is currently that anyone will be able to administer a league, and the admin will be charged a nominal fee, to keep the numbers reasonable. The membership will be limited to 30 or so drivers, so sessions can run for the most part without splits. Also, the track schedule will have to follow one of the Official Series schedules, but any car can be chosen by the admin. And one more thing, no iRating, or SR effects during league races. Drivers will only be able to participate in one league race a week, although in any league that they have been invited to.

Iracing Insider’s Night!

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Join Dave Kaemmer and the rest of the iRacing staff for a special event this Thursday evening. First, there will be an open chat hosted by none other than Dave Kaemmer. This will be followed by a race where you will find many of the iRacing staff joining the members for some wheel-to-wheel competition.

Dave will be hosting a chat room opening at 7:30 EDT where iRacing members are welcome to ask Dave anything. What’s new on the service? Any changes to driving physics planned? Will Dave be doing any real world racing this year? This is your opportunity to ask Dave whatever is on your mind.

After the chat join the iRacing staff in the 8:15 EDT race in the Skip Barber Race Series. Dave and many other staff members will be joining this race session so you’ll have a good chance of running on track with some of the people who have created iRacing. Remember, this is an official race so drive like you normally would. As always, the sporting code is in effect.

Unfortuanatly for me I was working late that night:(

Iracing Stats website.

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Found this program called “Greasemonkey”

http://www.irstats.com/members/index.php

What it does is everytime you open you stats page and look at Practice/race/qualifying/tt results, it captures the stats of that session and puts it on irstats website members section!
Awesome little program!, displays race graphs for SR, irating all sorts of little things.

Im not quite sure how it will capture rest of my race history.

Practice session in the Riley DP @ Silverstone

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Since I was now over 4SR in roads, I could try out the Riley DP again, but this time it was at Silverstone.

Started some practice sessions and started doing 1:50s which is about 10secs off aliens and about 8secs off decent drivers.

So I set about getting some decent setups, as the defaults were just rubbish lol.

Downloaded A Shawn Purdy setup and straight away i was doing 1:46s, it felt so much better!

My personal best so far is 1:45.811
